Snoring or Sleep Apnea occurs when the air flows past narrowed airway, causing the tissues to vibrate. As a result, the amount of inhaled oxygen is decreased, resulting in oxygen deficiency, which is an underlying condition that leads to other acute or chronic diseases.
To treat any kind of disease, the root cause of the disease and its working mechanism must be made explicate. Polysomnography (PSG)
is wide available for diagnosing snoring or sleep apnea but the problem with this method is that it can only analyze the relative degree
of the disease progression. There is no definitive diagnostic criteria for PSG test method and root cause analysis is impossible.
CIP INDEX, developed by Ilmi snoring and rhinitis research institute, is an index that calculates the relative occurrence probability
through structural and functional analysis of 15 factors that cause snoring sleep apnea using X-RAY and CT. By using CIP INDEX,
it is possible to increase the treatment success rate by not only identifying the cause and severity of the disease, but also quantifying
and monitoring the treatment process. In addition, no prior training is required to use CIP INDEX. Unlike the PSG test method,
the result can be obtained within a short time, regardless of facility or location and it is very cost effective.
